Take your best friend and cycle the Rallarvegen in September
Expedition Finse is Norway's first expedition festival, and we aim to create a place for people who are interested in expeditions and the great outdoors. The festival is for everyone who enjoys the outdoors, whether you have been on an adventure, are planning one or are interested in polar- and expeditions history. We welcome all of you to the festival 14.-16. February 2020.
Ski sailing gives you the opportunity to "fly" over the vast plains with wind as source of power. With Finse 1222 hosting your stay, the wilderness is literally on our doorstep. Due to the radical qualities of Finse, we have the perfect conditions for ski sailing. Steady winds and large surfaces to move on makes the Finse lake the optimal place for your first experience with a sail. Ski sailing was best known as a mode of transport for long trips, but today it is a nice family activity and often in demand as an activity in a business context.
Finse is a great place to learn snow kiting, and the course start only a few hundred meters from the hotel. Bring your friends or family to a fun course!
Dear Guests! Finse 1222 will be closed the whole summer 2020. This is due to the situation with the corona virus and the uncertainty about how we can operate the hotel for the sake of guests and staff under current situation. We will contact everyone who has booked a stay with us this summer shortly. We are planning to open 15. January 2021, and we are looking forward to welcome you to Finse 1222 in 2021. You can book your stay here:
In addition to the the amazing Rallarvegen, the surrounding area offers unique hiking opportunities. You do not have to walk more than 10 minutes before you are in some of Norway’s most beautiful terrain!
Finse 1222 is the perfect place to visit with colleagues, serving as a great location to gather and get away from the usual surroundings of everyday life. The nature, the hotel's historical atmosphere, personal service, and good food all contribute to a wonderful stay.
The route starts at a high altitude and continues past Hardangerjøkulen while passing large rivers of meltwater from the mountains. After this, the road continues through the wild Flåm Valley with its many waterfalls and ends in a beautiful and famous Norwegian fjord. Rallarvegen offers not only breath-taking scenery, but a journey through fascinating culture and history.
We open the hotel Finse 1222 for the new winter season Sunday 29 December 2019. New Year's ski jumping competition, New Year's Quiz and good food. Take the trip to the mountains and experience snow-capped mountains and nice winter scenery!
